Julio Pereira is a professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus. He has been a research fellow at Columbia University, New York University, and La Salle University in Philadelphia. He is a recipient of the American Psychological Association's Distinguished Scientific Award for Research in Psychology and has been awarded the Fulbright Program's Faculty Research Abroad Program for Research and Scholarship. He has published more than fifty articles and book chapters dealing with various aspects of personality and social psychology.
